Since my DMT experience over a year ago I noticed a high pitched tone or ringing in my ears during meditation, relaxation, and before sleep. I found it comforting and it helped me focus during meditation. Upon doing some research into this I found that many people experience this during their “awakening” and describe it as an elevating of your energetic “frequency” or vibration, a communication from your higher self or spirit guides, an upgrading of your DNA, or a high frequency spiritual “download”.

Having offered this insight or perspective, I also strongly suggest that anyone experiencing “ringing in the ears” symptoms still get a check-up from a qualified medical professional, rule out any inner ears issues and/or tinnitus. I realize that some people may find this “ear tone” unpleasant and may suffer due to it. Some considerations are as follows:
-Reduce exposure to loud noises or music
-Avoid using earbuds or headphones
-Take supplements such as magnesium, gingko biloba and omega 3 oils
-Reduce intake of caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, sugar, salt, and artificial sweetners
-Meditate, relax, and get adequate sleep
-Stay well hydrated
However, even if you associate this experience as tinnitus or something negative, after following up on any medical issues you can take action on, it may still be helpful to explore changing your perspective on these symptoms. Perhaps it doesn’t need to be viewed as negative or harmful. Maybe there is a way to adopt a “soft-focus” and work with this experience vs resisting it. There might even be ways to lessen the sensation when it becomes intrusive. Just something I invite you to look into!
