Berdasarkan kitab tersebut Rasulullah memanggil orang yang mengalami telinga berdenging atau berdengung, maka arti dari telinga berdenging adalah untuk mengingat Rasulullah dengan mengumandangkan solawat.
“Jika telinga kalian berdenging atau berdengung maka hendaklah ia mengingat aku (Sayidina Rasulullah) dan membaca solawat kepadaku serta mengucapkan:” Dzakarallahu man Dzakaroni Bikhair (Allah ta’ala, akan mengingat yang mengingatku dengan kebaikan)”.
Imam Nawawi berkata: “Sesungguhnya telinga itu berdenging hanya ketika datang berita baik ke ruh, bahwa Sayidina Rosulullah telah menyebutkan orang (pemilik telinga berdenging) tersebut dengan kebaikkan di al ma’la al’ala (majlis tertinggi) di alam ruh, bagi yang mengalami telinga berdenging hendaklah menghadapinya dengan mengingat Allah sebanyak-banyaknya.
